Does anyone know how long you have to work in BHS before they will put you in for management training?

It's never 'automatic' .. if you show promise you could be 'recognised' almost from 'day 1'

I expect BHS actually recruits new graduates direct into their "management training scheme". If you failed to get in on this, but have got an 'ordinary' workers job with them, you may be able to get onto a future 'fast track' management course by applying with your existing Managers recommendations ....

You could also 'work your way up' = this typically takes 10-15 years ... on the other hand, you could still be on the tills after 30 years ..

I suggest you discuss this with your Manager .. until you have him/her 'on-side' there's no chance ..
