I drive through these roadworks on most days and they have average speed cameras on them. So many people seem to speed past me and I am doing the maximum permitted so I wonder if the cameras are dummies or are all thesr people getting fines and points ?

  1. For average speed cameras to work you have to drive through 2 sets of them. Perhaps the people who are speeding have passed the last set of cameras before they take their next exit.

  3. No they are dummies, your fine to speed through...

  4. they are not dummies

during the daytime traffic will rarely travel through that section at more than 45 if someone whizzes past at 55 more than likely they will have to slow down again before the next camera thus not getting caught

these cameras are infra red and also clock you're speed as you pass them

i think they are aimed mainly at the prats that think it's still ok to do 60

plus most cars are only doing 70mph when thier speedo says 75 and only doing about 56 when it says 60 and so forth
