Does anyone know how much a 1979 Steury Housboat would sell for?

The boat is old and out of shape. It needs work done on both the boat and motor. The trailer is worn and both tires are flat. The interior seems a litte beat up but definately fixable. It sounds like real piece of garbage but It seems like a good project boat to me. So does anyone know how much it would go for in its current condition?

Its really hard to say without seeing it first hand. Could be worth something but it could also be worth less than nothing. Most "Free" boats are not a good value due to the amount of work that's needed. Anything can be fixed given enough $$$ and the desire to do it. Boat trailers are notorious for high maintenance.   The tires may be flat but are they still usable if you get the flats fixed or are they rotten? Very likely the trailer bearings will be ruined too. Boat engines this old are probably not worth fixing as it will need to be pulled and rebuilt. A better value would be total replacement with a remanufactured engine.....AND outdrive. Then the interior. On a 79, you are going to find wood rot in many places. by the time your done with carpentry and upholstery, you'll have a serious chunk of change invested. Very likely more than it would cost you to get a nice newer boat that you could use now.

Someone sold one on Ebay for 10,000K.  I would think that in the condition that boat is in, I wouldn't pay too much more than 5-6,000 for it.
