  1. £35 per week per family. We are not exactly bursting the HSBC

  2. It is a sad fact that all the answers so far are absolute RUBBISH. Asylum seekers receive money from the National Asylum Support Service NASS which is a subsidiary of the Home Office. They receive a weekly payment of just under £30 of which only £10 is in cash and the remainder is in vouchers which can only be used at major supermarkets. The vouchers can not be swapped for tobbacco or alcohol. In addition these people are housed in disgusting sub-standard housing usualy in the North of England and in un-regenerated areas. The asylum seekers are not permitted to work and are required to sign at their local immigration ofice regularly.

It is so sad how people's political opinions of asylum seekers are based almost entirely on the petty trash that they read in junk like the Daily Mail.

Asylum seekers do not receive Housing Benefit, or Income Support or DSS or indeed any other welfare benefits. The money they receive is out of Home Office funds and not even from the DSS. You try living on £30 a week.

    I am an immigration solicitor

  3. It should be nothing!!!!

  4. Should get the same as what the French give them.

  5. According to the Daily Mail, they all get a free house, car, private health insurance and they are allowed to push white British people off the pavement as they go past.

The bill to get their bath taps gold plated goes through next week.

Actually, what has been said already is true. My answer is meant to be ironic. I thought I'd better explain, just in case any BNP supporters have got someone to read my answer to them.

  6. too much for what they worth, the smelly f*ckers. english people have fu*k all. Why don't put a hole in thier banana boat when they are coming us all a favour

  7. Asylum seekers considered destitute receive weekly cash payments which are equivalent to 70% of regular income support.  The current amounts paid (from 11 April 2005) are set out below:

    Qualifying couple  ÃƒÂ‚£61.71

Lone parent aged 18 or over  ÃƒÂ‚£39.34

Single person aged 25 or over  ÃƒÂ‚£39.34

    Single person aged 24  ÃƒÂ‚£31.15

Young person aged 16-18 (but not a member of a couple)  ÃƒÂ‚£33.85

    Child aged under 16  ÃƒÂ‚£43.88

    (Figures 2006)

  8. It's not just the benefit, but the free house, car, dog and liposuction.

  9. I don't know, and so I looked at the answers here to find out.  And guess what - nobody else knows either - they've just made it up !  I do know that they don't get much, and would appreciate it if someone who actually KNOWS the answer would respond.  Thank you

  10. Don't know the full amount but its way more than UK citizens. They get housing and council tax benefit, free houses, travel expenses, food vouchers, grants... and they even get money to start up businesses no questions asked

  11. I think it`s 70% of normal social security.
