  1. Here’s a web site called payscale.com,  http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=... that lists the median salary in the US for a coroner as $50,868.00.

Wiki Answers, http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_money... states $35 to $40 an hour.

It seems to me with the education required (see the links below) that such a job would pay much more with experience.  I would imagine these rates are beginning rates because you have to be an MD.

You can also check out the US Bureau of Labor Statistics for Area and Occupation:  http://www.bls.gov/bls/blswage.htm.

Here's a couple of web sites that have forensic science college programs:

    http://www.collegeplanningguide.com/fore...

    Hope this helps.

  2. In Wayne County Michigan (Detroit metro area), the coroner is an MD who makes an annual salary of $185,000. So you need to go get a Bachelor of Science degree in something like Biology, Chemistry or Physics, then go to medical school and specialize in Pathology. The University of Michigan is a fabulous school, as are Northwestern, the University of Chicago, Cornell, Vanderbilt and University of Washington. But before you plan on your medical school, make sure your grades in HS and college are excellent and get ready for that beautiful MCAT exam.

  3. Why?  Are you into Necrophilia?
