Does anyone know how much money i should bring to France for food?

i have a wedding in france in september & i need to know how much money to bring for food. I'm not a big shopper but i suppose i should bring some money for that as well. also can anyone recommend any cafes or restruants?

Food costs can vary enormously depending on where you choose to eat.

In Paris you can walk along the rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement (the Latin Quarter) at lunchtime and have dozens of restaurants to choose from that offer a three course, sit down meal, including a glass of wine, for as little as 8 euros. This may not be Haute Cuisine but the food is nothing to sneer at.

On the other hand, if Haute Cuisine is what you require then  at places like Taillevent the lunch special will be 70 euros plus the cost of a wine.

I'm more the sort of person who spends 8 euros to eat rather than 70 so evaluate my answers accordingly.

My current favortie restaurant is La Methode at 2 rue Descarte in the 5th.  At a recent meal the tab was 63 euros for two. That included a pre-dinner drink (a Kir), a first course of palourdes  (smal clams with garlic butter), a main course of lamb, dessert of caramelized pears with whipped cream and brandy, and a half bottle of a modest beaujolais. Another inexpensive place is  Auberge le Pot de Terre at 22 rue du Pot de Fer (5th arr.) Take a look at their menu on their website: http://www.lepotdeterre.com/index2.htm

Another pleasant place is Crepes a go go at 12 rue Soufflot rith by the Pantheon. You can have a big crepe stuffed with ham and cheese and a drink for less than 8 euros (on tuesdays they have an all  you can eat night for 18 euros).
