  1. I'm a patrol Sgt with 17 yrs on a city dept. I make just over 34 dollars an hr. I also receive 2% bonus at end of year. My son just started on the dept and makes just under 50,000. Its also not difficult to double your income with overtime and working off duty jobs if you want to put in the hrs. My retirement and benefits are excellent.

  2. Police don't get paid by the hour, they get paid a salary.... and it's usually starting at 25,000 to 30,000....

it depends on where you live though, sometimes more, sometimes less...

  3. it all depends there many different fields for law enforcement but if you go to this website you can find the wages of almost any job and the qualifications and the whole nine yards hope this helps http://www.bls.gov/search/ooh.asp?ct=OOH... just copy and paste

  4. Most police are union labor, so salary is dependent on contract negotiations. Because they are a government entity, it is also dependent on the tax base of the city.

If you pick a few cities and do an internet search, many have websites with recruiting information, and they may post the starting wage.

  5. I LIVE IN oK AND MY HUSBAND MAKES ABOUT 28 A YEAR. OHP ACADEMY CADETS MAKE  2600 A MONTH AND GET A RAISE AFTER GRADUATING

  6. ---OK I placed the Toronto PD pay schedule below here. I also placed the TPD page link [a] and a link for a toronto PD career page [b] in the source box for you to look at. Those sites have anything you want to know about TPD

----Toronto Police Services Salaries and Benefits

--Toronto Police cadets earn a base pay of $45,042.34.

--A 4th Class Constable earns a base pay of $50,057.71.

--A 3rd Class Constable earns a base pay of $57,211.20.

--A 2nd Class Constable earns a base pay of $64,364.69.

--A 1st Class Constable earns a base salary of $71.522.91.

Benefits include: Health plan, Dental plan, life insurance, credit union, pension plan, paid vacation, education reimbursement, employee and family assistance program.

  7. i think it's about 25 to 30  gran a year

  8. Police pay is a public  record  as part of the budget . NYC  area suburbs cops  have salary from 80k per year  - this will make it 40$  an hour.

  9. Check the link...  For a decent hourly estimate, divide the salary by 2000.

  10. I'm not sure about how much they make an hour, but I have someone I know who is a cop and makes about 65k a year. Good luck. :]

***Govt. jobs get GREAT benefits, btw.***

  11. Taxes pay for a cop's salary, so it depends how affluent the town is.  Cops in poorer towns make less money than cops in rich towns.  (Which I personally think sucks, because the poorer towns have more crime and the cops work harder but get paid less for it!)

  12. In the US it depends on the city you work in.  The pay can vary greatly.

  13. not enough.

  14. The cops where I live, in Boston MA, make 40 dollars an hour for doing road detail (such as directing traffic, etc.) and about $20 an hour doing regular work.
