I am visiting Xcaret Park next month and I purchased the basic day pass and not the plus that included the meals and snorkeling equipment. But I want to go snorkeling at Xcaret so does anyone know how much to rent the snorkeling equipment. Thanks

  1. I was just there last week.  We brought our own snorkel gear but I'm pretty sure they were renting it out for $10.  It's worth buying a cheap set at home before you go--I got mine for $30.  I used it at Xcaret and out in the ocean.  That way you don't have to stand in line or put a snorkel in your mouth that's been used by a hundred other people.  Also, if you want the equipment just for Xcaret's underground rivers, I will point out that the fins are the only thing you'll need for that.  There isn't much to see under water and most of the tunnels are too dark to see underneath anyway.  Going through w/o the fins might be tiring though.

  2. Probably not much, but what I do when I know that I will be near some water in Mexico that I may have the opportunity to swim or snorkel in I bring a cheap set (mask, fins &snorkle)with me.I have feet that are bigger than average and my size is not always available to rent

Before I Ieave Mexico I give the set to some local kid who can sell,or trade it..After all, they are pretty low milage.

It can make some kids day,and I don't have to carry them home.

Also,I  'always' pack a good pair of swim goggles in a zip lock bag with me wherever I go just in case. They weigh next to nothing and take up less space in my bag than my toothpaste does and have come in handy many times especially in salt water...I even used them once in the desert in Northern Mexico when I got caught in a sand storm.
