Does anyone know how politicians do it re their long speeches? Do they have a monitor?Memorize ? Or?

Someone writes the speech for them. They hire someone just to do that for the president. The president only points out the main things he wants to talk about.

If you see most politicians in action they often have a couple of squares of glass in front of them, tilted at rather jaunty angles. Those are the autocues they are reading from. First used by Margaret Thatcher to great effect - as you don't look like you are mumbling into a lectern.
