Diana and her fiance Dodi al Fayed were being driven in Paris after having left the Ritz for dinner. They were being chased by paparazzi at high speeds and this resulted in their hitting a wall in a tunnel. al Fayed was pronounced dead at the scene and Diana was taken to the hospital where her heart was massaged to no avail.

It is believed that this was an accident and that it was not intentional.

Yes, too much speed in a narrow tunnel with a drunk driver according to French and British investigations. Her own security body guard should have saw this but went on the ride anyway.
