  1. I am a waitress in Australia, and tips don't really matter as much over here. I am paid $18 an hour, so I don't rely on my tips to get me through.

That said, I still tip for good service, even though I know that the wait-staff don't depend on that money.

  2. it's more than just rude some people are just as-----s. No one can tell me that when people go out to eat they don't know that the service people get paid mostly by tips. If you don't want to tip then  either stay at home or go to McNasties or Burger Barf.

  3. I totally agree with you and take it from an ex waitress who put her husband through engineering school with my tips: Tips are expected and show the appreciation to the server.

Back 20 yrs ago,the wage was only $2/ hr, so my husband and I used to live out of my tips and pay for his school also.

Very rarely someone would not leave a tip, mainly from pure ignorance, if he was from another country,(where is customary for the tip to be added to the bill beforehead).

What can you do, you just curse those cheap b.....s and go on with your life

If it is a constant problem with some regular customers, the manager needs to interfere and remind the offenders that tips are customary and expected.

BTW I always leave at least 15% (for OK service and 25% for great service) when I eat out.I know what a waitress is going through serving and God knows what she is working for, be it tuition or an underage child.

  4. The better the service the bigger the tip I leave. Even though I know there is a percentage by law, I always go beyond, because I know waitresses depends on their tips.

  5. It is very rude for a waitress to think she deserves a tip.  You should not depend on anything.  If you are as good as you say customers will tip you.  So big deal you didn't get tipped, get over it and serve your next customers.

  6. "I normally ALWAYS tip"

is that mean you usually tip or always tip?

  7. yay

    they do ur every command
