  1. I believe all the old 8 bore's were singleshots or doubles that were only used to fire solids when hunting dangerous game.

I've never heard of anyone producing an 8 guage pump shotgun

  2. Try these

    Remington or Mossberg

  3. No, I am afraid you’re out of luck. I heard an old story of the early Texas Prison chain gang guards being issued 8 ga pump shotguns but was never able to verify that. So I think that may have been made up.

There are 10 ga pump shotguns and semi-auto 10 ga shotguns. The 8 ga was just too much for people and laws passed making it illegal to hunt with did it in.

I think the 10 ga would suit any one interested in the 8 ga. It packs one h**l of a punch, you can still buy shells for it and in many places you can hunt with it.

  4. 8 gauge has been out of production for many years. ammo is practically non existent. i also think i remember that anything larger than 10 gauge was outlawed for hunting, but i'm not sure of that.

you might find a used one, but due to the rarity, the price would be very high.

look for a 10 gauge. it will do everything you might need a shotgun to do.
