Does anyone know how strict they are in lifeguarding courses?

As in if you did the 50m swim in 63 seconds rather than 60 would you fail? thanks

  1. yup...but 50m in 60 isn't that hard if you practice a little. I'm sure you'll have no problem


  2. Yep fraid so!  The reason is that you are not strong enough to swim further than the 50m, or out in open water which is harder still, more practise required to get it under the 60 - and you are so nearly there!

  3. Very strict because you're responsible for people's safety. I know you have to swim a mile within a certain time but I can't remember what it is.
