Does anyone know how to apply for governemnt paid childcare so I can go back to school and work?

  1. You can try one of those mom-clubs where you leave your child with your friends or something. You should try getting a babysitter as well. Although I don't think that going back to school with a child under 1 years old is a very good idea...Wait until he/she becomes a little older!


  2. If you're planning on going back to school, I would check with the higher ed dept in your state (or the state where you want to attend school). Some states have a child care assistance grant to help offset the cost of child care for parents going to college.

    Community and technical colleges also may provide their own child care grants or scholarships. The college's financial aid office could probably tell you if the college has one.

  3. Congrats on going to school. I would definitely recommend attending a community, because a  lot of community colleges now realize that many students are non traditional ( they have families, jobs, etc) many offer on campus childcare on campus or nearby. If your school does not, you may want to google you city/state and "subsidized child care".
