  1. Invest in a repair and maintenance manual, it will pay for itself many times over the life of your engine.  Here's a site offering them for sale.

  2. have you taken it apart yet?

If it's a VRO pump somebody else will have to chime it.

Have to work from memory -- I don't have a diagram or anything, so I can only give you a general idea.  Mine has a vacuum hose to the manifold -- yours might just bolt directly on to the crankcase.

The little springloaded plunger thing goes on the back side, some models, there's a hole in the back the plunger shaft fits into.  The diaphram goes on top of that.

Then the main body.  It's got two chambers, one on front of the body, other on back, with a reed valve between.  Obviously fuel flow has to be from front to back.

The plunger is supposed to push the diaphram up into the top chamber.  That chamber is the one open to the pulse line from the manifold.

Then the top goes on top of that.

Should be one gasket on either side of the main body.  Only one side gets gasket sealant (permatex #2 works just fine).  Shouldn't be hard to figure out, it's the one you had to clean the gasket sealant off of.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Back in the old days--They (evenrude) would only sell you a complete pump. You could rebuild the larger pumps without a problem, but that postage stamp sized one for the little motors was a hand full.
