Does anyone know how to change internet explorer tabs so that when u hit enter at the address bar it doesnt?

open a new tab.

Example: I type in google.com in the address bar, hit enter and a new tab open with google, with the other tab still open on my last page, so i have two tabs now. how can i change that back to normal!

i was just experiencing that a few minutes ago. Just restart your computer and it'll be fine. at least that's what happened to my comp
