  1. I'm not sure how to contact the director himself.

But this is what Wikipedia said about contacting United States Citizenship and Immigration Services:

    "Contact USCIS

All immigrants who hold a valid receipt number given to them on their I-797 Notice of Action can call USCIS' National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 for additional information on their case status. A receipt number is not required for general inquiries. USCIS call centers are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Customer Service telephone number is operated not by USCIS immigration officers but by civilian contractors with limited knowledge of the U.S. immigration laws and with access to a very limited amount of information regarding pending cases. [5]

If people do have questions about immigration policies and procedures, they are advised to set up an appointment at their local District Office through the INFOPASS Appointment system.

Applicants can open an account with the online status checking system of USCIS. It is free of charge and can be configured to send an email alert when there is an update on a particular immigration case and displays the most recent action on the case.

A summary of how to contact the USCIS can be found in the external links section below."

Good luck! My sister in law is Chinese and had to go through the immigration process; it takes a lot of patience and a good lawyer. I hope everything works out well for you or whoever you are looking this up for.

  2. Call and ask for Jose

  3. You can log onto the Department of Immigration and Naturalization website but you will never speak to a director. You have to go through all their channels, paperwork, letter writing and all the costs or whatever it is that they require for whatever it is that you want to know. There is a phone number that you can call. Anything that is in process will take the time they tell you it will up to the end....believe me I have had to deal with them. Their forms and any service they do will always cost and nothing is done in the local offices anymore. You can't visit without an appointment either, there is strict security and they do all their business in the great state of Texas...wonder why. That is all I can tell you. Good luck, you will need it. Miss Mary
