  1. 1 Meter per Second = 2.2369362920544 Miles per Hour

  2. Let's say we have a value in meters per second.  Let's call it x.

So we have x meters per second.

We want to convert this into miles per hour.

Well, let's do it in two parts.  Let's first convert it into meters per hour.

Obviously to convert seconds to hours, you divide them by 3600:

x meters per second = x meters per (seconds/3600) hours

Now, convert metres to miles.  There are 1609.344 metres in

    a mile. So:

x meters per hour = (x/1609.344) miles per hour

So, to convert x meters per second to miles per hour:

x meters per second = (x/1609.344) miles per (seconds/3600) hour

    In other words:

x meters per second = 2.237x miles per hour.

  3. yes

    1 mile = 1,609.344 meter

    1 hour = 60 minutes X 60 seconds = 3600 seconds

    so 1 mph  = 1,609.334 meters/ 3600 seconds   or:

    0.4470372222... meters/sec

therefore to convert meters/sec to mph you have to divide the numbers of meters per sec by 0.447037222...

so 100 meters per sec =about 223.7 mph

    in other words

    y mph = (x meters/sec) / (1609.44/3600)
