Does anyone know how to find out about past jobs?

I am applying for a job and it wants me to go back five years, it's for the federal government, but i do not recall the name or address of a job i had does anyone know how to find it? does the irs keep track? HELP

Do you have copies of your income tax filings? The W-2's will have the name of the company you worked for and then you can call them and get the extact dates of employement.

Did you keep your pay sheets or your former contracts?
