I am moving to the connecticut area, near new haven and I'm trying to find people looking for chilcare services. Here I can look at a local newspaper, but since I don't live there yet, I can't get a paper. Any ideas?

  1. Check any of the on line nanny services.  You can google nanny or aupair jobs and many sites will come up.  I have personally had very good luck with greataupair.com and gonannies.com. These type of web-sites have a variety of search options including location, live-in/out, p/t vs full time, and salary.  Another option would be to place an ad in there local paper advertising your services in the classified section.  Also if there is a college or university nearby, check their website for job opportunities. Good luck!

  2. Not REALLY sure of CT but NYC is close and Irishecho is a paper that many moms use to hire a nanny. Can also register with an agency and have them place you.  If you don't like the job, you can ask to be assigned to a new one.

  3. Craigslist.org has local sections that advertise needs such as people looking for childcare.  You could also place your own listing (for free).

    Try http://newhaven.craigslist.org/kid/

    Best of luck!
