Does anyone know how to fix my slice in golf?

Every time I hit my driver I hit it short and it goes way right. I get really mad and want to figure out how to fix it. I can even hit my seven iron better and that's pathetic. Thanks.

  1. A slice is basically caused because your clubface is open relative to the path it is being swung on. I would start by taking a much stronger grip and get your clubface closed. Some people will tell you to change your swingpath first but my experience is that this is very difficult to do so start by getting the face closed.  The bad news is the ball will start going left on you but that will ultimately get you to change your swing path also.  I would work on that 7 iron before you start hitting the driver.  Try and hit balls to work on this before you go to the course.

There is a great write up about how to fix a slice on ezine articles at this address;  http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Fix-a-S...

You can also go to http://www.how-to-fix-a-slice.blogspot.c...

Either of these should help in greater detail.  Good Luck

  2. Impossible to fix you in this format.

A slice is caused by an outside to in swing path and an open clubface at impact.

Those two have to be present for you to slice.

It will take a bit of work to get rid of a slice but it is well worth it.  Nick Bayley does a pretty good job of teaching you how to do it simply. Check the link in the source box below or take a look at http://www.playthelie.com

  3. The trick is to analyze your own swing to work out why it slices.

This helped me. My kids drew on some of my Golf Balls, and I started noticing the color would mark the club head off center. All I had to do was shuffle my feet closer to center my swing and it straightened the shot.

Experiment with the ball placed higher or lower on the tee, forward or back ...

  4. If you understand the concept of swing plane, it will be incredibly easy to do so. A slice is the left to right effect on a right hand golfer. This effect is produced because you are making a outside inside swing. This means that your clubhead is coming from the ouside...... its hard to explain in text, so I will go for the fixing of the problem. Ok, first thing you need to do is realize what is that you are doing wrong. When you start your swing and get to the top, STOP. Notice that your clubhead is on top of your head, and it should be on the back of your head. This means that on your backswing you are taking the club way to vertical. A good practice drill is to do a hit some balls getting the clubhead back ti weist high. This creates an almos horizontal swing. See where im getting at? Hit a couple of balls that way and then start to take the club to its normal path. One swing thought you can use is when you take the club to the top, try to point at the ball with the grip butt. Imagine you have a laser on the butt and that laser has to aim a the ball.

I know all this is dificult to explain on text, but i guarantee that in person I could fix that slice in minutes.

Now the most important tip while you fix your slice. Get some vaseline and put a layer on the driver face, LOL

No matter how much you cut your swing, how hard you hit it, ITS GOING DEAD STRAIGHT!!

That is not to fix your swing, but it will get the job done meanwhile, lol
