While moving furniture in our new house we got scrape marks from the feet of the furniture. I tried to use WD-40 in case they were just scuff marks but unfortunately they are scrapes and I don't know how to remove them. HELP PLEASE?!

  1. Vinyl flooring is made of several layers... the top most layer being a urethane protective coating.  This is a tough coating.. unfortunately, the trade-off is that when its damaged... its damaged.

There are some products that help hide scuffs and scratches, and you can find them in the flooring departments of most building supply stores, like Lowe's.

Occasionally, light scuff marks can be hidden with common acrylic finishes you can find at most department/grocery stores (like Mop n Glo)

It is VERY difficult to eliminate a scuff altogether.

I know when doing warranty work on new homes, if a vinyl floor gets scratched or scuffed, it gets replaced.

Heheh.. I realize its too late now... but seriously think about getting some furniture glides for moving furniture in the future.  You can find them at any department store and the building supply stores.  There is usually a variety of sizes, and types.  Some are hard, some padded, anything from 3/4" diameter to 3" diameter can be found right on the shelf.

    Good Luck

  2. It is vinyl now days.  If is into the layer then you have to replace that part. You can find an extra piece behind your refrigerator or under the dishwasher.  There a trick to replace a piece my making the pattern and cutting both pieces at the same time.  You can find DIY methods on the internet.
