Does anyone know how to get a passport to go to Canada?

I'm traveling to Canada in a few months and I need to know where to go in order to get a passport. If anyone can help me, please do, asap.

If you are crossing the border by land you don't need a passport, just a drivers liscence or birth certificate.  

If you are going by plane you need a passport so you need to get a form to fill out from post office, photos taken at a registered business.  You need to return the form, photos and your birth certificate to the post office.
