  1. If you don't want to try any other solutions, I'd seriously just try rewashing them (w/o Downy this time obviously. I've found the only way to make sure it doesn't stain your clothes is to add it manually during the final rinse, which yeah is annoying.. but to me worth it. But I haven't had the problem when I add it to the automatic fabric softener dispenser either). I've had Downy stain my clothes once or twice while in the Downy Ball and I didn't really care because it was all socks and things I didn't care about, but after they'd been washed another time or two the Downy stains were all gone. :o)

  2. when u put the fabric softner in the ball put a lil bit of water in it and it will help

  3. I never could find a solution, but quit having the trouble when I bought a new washer. I have found white vinegar just disolves softener on the washer and any spills, so it wipes up easily with a paper towel. Try spraying the stains with that then let it sit at least an hour, then launder again. Hopefully it'll break it down as well in material.

  4. just rewash them. hopefully you didn't put them in the dryer.

I found that whenever I used liquid fabric softener in a hot water load, the whites would all be splotched with blue. never had a prob with warm or cold water tho.

  5. soak them in stain in warm water and baking soda

  6. Dawn dish soap, original only, please and baking soda paste.  It is the only dish soap I know of that works for this problem.

  7. You can try OxyClean as directed. It's an oxidizer. Baking soda isn't bad either. BTW, I stopped using fabric softener ten years ago. It just tore up my clothes too much. Do you really need to use it? Modern detergents work well without any fabric softener. Like Arm & Hammer for instance. But it is your life, and I won't tell you how to lead it.

  8. My wife said she had this problem. She made a paste with Dawn dish soap and baking soda. Then she applied it to the stains and waited 30 minutes before laundering again. Also, she no longer uses fabric softener, she uses white vinegar as fabric softener.
