Does anyone know how to hookup cable to a HDTV that does not have RF connectors?

The TV is an LG 42 inch LCD. The DVD theator system that came with the LCD also does not have RF but when I was in Singapore I used standard cable but I did not hook it up so I need help.

  1. Looking at the LG web site, their 42" LCDs are specified as having 1 RF input. Maybe you should tell us the exact model number, because a TV with no antenna/cable input is an exceedingly strange duck.


  2. When you were in Singapore and had standard cable, did you have a cable box?  If so, and if your LG really does not have RF then you will need to get a cable box again.

    Also, if your LG does not have RF then the correct terminology is HD ready and not HDTV since HDTV means that it has a tuner built in.

  3. It appears that your TV does not have a built-in tuner.  You will have to connect to a cable system, satellite system, or get an external ATSC tuner and antenna.  (You want an ATSC tuner so you will be ready for the switch to digital in 2009.)
