I recently moved into my apartment and did not have the key for my mailbox so I went to my local postoffice and paid them so that they can make another key. They gave me a receipt and a form stating that the process takes 3 to 4 business days to complete. It has been more than 3 weeks and they still have not completed my work order. Every time I call to inquire, they give me a different excuse. First the person who handles this is not here, then they lost the paperwork, and know it's the "maintenance" dept. that lost my paperwork. I am so frustrated with the whole issue. Meanwhile, my mail is being held inside the box and I'm sure there are bills I am running behind on.

  1. You might want to try talking to a supervisor to see if he/she can resolve the problem.

To get your mail, you could always stop at the mailbox when the carrier has it open and ask for it. Or just ask the post office if they can take the mail out of your box and hold it at the post office for you to pick up until you get your key.
