Does anyone know how to make a homemade cycle trainer?

Where I work they have rollers for conveyor belts, I thought about using something like that.  Some of the trainers I have seen use two for the back wheel and one for the front.

Its really unlikely that you could make an effective one for less then the commercially available ones.  

I use Performance's cheapest, and it works just fine.
