Does anyone know how to make a "pine cone" quilt?

I don*t mean the pine cones from a tree.

I mean an actual quilt that is called "pine cone quilting" It is made with squares turned into triangles, is it stuffed with batting or what. How to start?

  1. This is also called a Pine Burr quilt. You fold squares in half diagonally to form a triangle, then in half again. Arrange the triangles in overlapping circles on a piece of foundation fabric to give the dimensional pine cone look. Here are some instructions and examples:

  2. the "Quilt in a Day" lady on HGTV did one she called Pine Cone Quilt. You might go to her site and see if it is available.

    You might also look at Alex show Simply Quilts on HGTV also to see if she has a segment on the Pine Cone.

    I have seen it on several different shows Most of them on PBS, at one time or another.
