Does anyone know how to make a volleyball set by setting the poles into old tires using cement?

I do not want to have the poles pounded into the ground. I want to be able to move them when I mow the yard.

  1. put the pole in the old tyre and put some cement and allow it to dry .After drying you tie the nets to it and start playing volley ball.

  2. old tires look gross and they are heavy. Plus it makes you look like an amature :o)

Instead I would try the following:

    1. Use metal pails (plastic tends to crack) fill the pails with quick rete from home depot(never lowes too expensive) make sure to insert the poles after pouring the concrete. Making them level and upright can be tricky, but tying ropes to stakes for a day or 2 is not that bad.

    2. The prefered method is to dig 2 holes large enough to place sonar tubes into the ground. Then fill them with the concrete. If you use a tube (slightly larger) than your pole to create the hole in the concrete(like the sleeves they sell for indoors) then you can place your poles into the holes when you want to play. It makes for easy set up, and break down. As long as you keep the concrete flush or slightly below the grade of your yard, you will be able to mow right over them.

    Good luck

  3. yeah, just put some poles in rubber tires and buy some Quik Cement from Home Depot or somethin.  then string a net up to the poles once theyre dry... u can usually find decent net in ***** stores... have fun playing!

  4. You know, you could just get some thin rope, loop it around the pole to a tent stake, and pound the stake into the ground.  It would be a lot easier than lugging around huge tires of cement with a pole stuck in them.

  5. yes get the old tires, then get the poles, pour quick cement into the tires, and RAM the poles into the cement. Be sure the poles are level and let it dry,
