Does anyone know how to make a wesekh (Egyptian necklace) in ways that don't involve a needle and thread?

  1. Those seem to have been made with various mediums, but you could always use wire instead of a needle and thread, or use some type of cording instead... along with beads you buy, or beads you make from polymer clay or other things (long thin triangles or rectangles of colorful magazine pages rolled up over toothpicks and glued shut might work well too --see link below).  

    Or you could use fabric, leather, or cardstock, etc, cut into a similar collar shape.  

    Then glue real beads (or beads you make) onto it.  

    Or you could paint "beads" on it with acrylic paints, etc (regular colors or metallic colors).
