I've actually seen "muffin top" pans!  They're wider, and flatter than regular muffin pans... for people who like the top the best!   Hint:  Brush them with butter and sprinkle with sugar before baking, for that added sweet crunch too.....

yes, both of the first 2 people are right if you don't want to buy a new muffin pan, more batter in each muffin section and lots of air in the batter when you mix it, it should be "whipped" more if you will. good luck!

get as much air in the beating as you can muster.be sure the oven is at the correct temperature,and DONT open the oven door to peek.

YOUR NOT PUTTING ENOUGH BATTER IN THE PAN, FILL EACH INDIVIDUAL MUFFIN WITH BATTER TO THE TOP AND IT WILL OVERFLOW,.
