Looking for a fast and easy way to make my own homemade yeast that will go well into homemade wine. I know all about wine yeast, and so on, but was hoping to create something on my own that did the same job.

  1. Once you already have some purchased yeast, keep what remains from brewing with it to brew again. The 'sediment' can be used to make yeast cakes that can later be reactivated for more brewing.

Yeast cakes are nothing more than the sediment from one brew dried and clumped into rice cake sized lumps. Try to include only the lively yeast from the top of the sediment. The stuff on the bottom is generally less good, and can add a harsh taste to new brews if used.

  2. You want to create yeast? Do you have  a god complex? You can not create yeast. You can culture yeast from different sources but you can not create it.
