  1. Many things that are commonly sold for the pantry are in cold soaps and you could try this site, be aware tho that you do need to add a caustic ingredient such as lye or caustic soda to make the oils or fats consolidate into soap

  2. Watch Fight Club.

  3. Cold process soap can be made using ingredients found in the pantry -the only item you will need is not found in your pantry is lye - which you can by at most hardware stores in the drain cleander isle (it must be 100% crystal - and is commonly sold by Roebic) below is a recipe and a link to step by step instructions provided by Kathy Miller on her website.

*Rachael's "Tried and True" Recipe (Thanks! to Rachael Levitan)

    48 ounces Crisco (a 3-pound can)

21 ounces Soybean Oil (or Olive, Canola, or a blend of these)

    18 ounces Coconut Oil

    28 ounces of cold water

    12 ounces lye crystals

    Temperatures: 100 degrees

Trace by hand should be in about 20 minutes. Cure about 24-48 hours before cutting.
