Does anyone know how to place a vase of flowers on a table in Second Life ? I have them in my inventory?

Drag them from your inventory to the floor. Then right click on them and select Edit. Make sure you are in 'Position' mode and then move them to the place where you want them to be.

To improve performance there are a few things you can do.

Reduce the graphics setting in Preferences. You lose some of the pretties, but it will run better.

Better still, download the latest version of the Nicholaz viewer. You can find it here:

Read the blog for the version that matches the version of the SL viewer you have. DO NOT delete the LL Second Life viewer you have. After you download the correct version of Nicholaz, unzip the folder and check out read me for the instructions. I have been using versions of the Nicholaz since last November and it makes the whole SL experience so much better. Hardly any lag, less crashes, less failed TPs, no memory leaks.
