Does anyone know how to remove a permanet marker stain?

Test ANY solvent on a very small back  cover corner of the case to see if it softens the plastic or removes a finish.  I would avoid acetone (nail polish remover) because it does affect most plastics.  Denatured or rubbing alcohol may take off a shiny finish, but shouldn't soften the plastic.  

I would try a product like DeSolvit or GooGone first.

I've always had luck with WD-40. You could also try one of those Clorox Magic Erasers - they seem to clean anything.

Hairspray!!

Trust me it works...I did it the other day on plastic and it came off.

Spray the marked part, and rub with a cloth .........only if it is on the outside part and not near the keys or monitor part.

  Take a Qtip and dip it in Rubbing alcohol and gentle rub

this should remove it.

Also try Mr. Clean Magic erasers, Wet the tip of one of them and gentle rub the mark.

nail polish remover...maybe a little bleach water?  Idk for sure, I'm not sure what would ruin your laptop's casing...
