Does anyone know how to remove paint ?

I have spent about $200 on paint stripper so far for an area of about 4feet square. I have got a lot of it off but some still remains and I want to paint it with a different colour. Its cement, so does anyone have any cheap ideas how to remove the rest ? I have tried scraping but as its on the ground and I have very bad back due to surgery can't bend too much. I'd really appreciate some serious answers please and no I cant paint over the top as then it will probably peel off in that area at a later date. I am selling so want it to look nice. Thanks YAers.

I understand what you are doing, however, if the paint is not coming up with a remover or has been down for a while, it probably is not coming up.  If you still have alot to do, there are people in the yellow pages that will use machinery to remove any left over coatings.  good luck.

if the paint is in good condition all it needs is a light sand to roughen up the surface so your new paint will stick to the surface

most other methods are expensive and time consuming

For smaller areas, try a heat gun and putty knife........but be careful. But as another answer pointed out, if it still intact after using stripper, it is stuck pretty well. Feather the remaining edges and paint away.

Keep in mind, any floor that is painted will need a lot of maintenance, so chances are even if you have a couple of areas that were not prepped as well, and problems develop, no one is going to blame you.

You can try sand blasting the area. But if the paint isn't coming up, I'd take a wire brush to the paint, then some fine steel wool, and paint right over it. If the paint on the cement now has a good bond. no one has to know. About the only other suggestion would be to use Primer coat first if there is a great deal of difference in the color of the existing paint and the new paint.
