We were painting my room and my boyfriend tripped and spilled about half a gallon of yellow paint all over my beige carpet. Does anyone know how to get a stain like this out, if not im just going to have to get a rug to cover it up.

  1. the only thing i can sugest [ and i dont't know if it will work ] is  " resolve " i spilt coffee on a white rug--stayed overnight then used resolve next day and it did perfect-----bottle says it will clean stains on carpet like---dirty motor oil---ink---grease----red wine----and more---bought it at walmart for few $$

  2. I'm assuming it's a type of paint which cleans up with soap and water? You will have to clean this spot many times to pick up all the paint, if it hasn't set too long. If not- first, how big is the stain? if it's not too big, cut out a square around it.  Cut one of a similar size from, say, inside a closet. Switch the squares- glue them down in each others' place and voila'!

  3. Honestly, you will spend more time trying to clean this than just to replace it.  One of the pigments in any shade of yellow, "yellow oxide", which is the hardest to remove, even off of your hands.  I vote to replace at your boyfriend's expence.

  4. You're probably out of luck. Paint doesn't come out that easily. May I suggest next time using a drop cloth over the carpet when painting. They're not expensive.

But for your question. Try oxy-clean and renting a deep clean steaming vacuum.  It may help, but I still think you're probably out of luck.
