My boyfriend dropped my new camera and now the image is up and to the side on the display. Is there anything I can do to fix it myself? It will cost me about 300 to take it in to get it fixed which means i might as well get a new one... Any tips would help, thanks!

  1. HI 22. Sorry to hear about your new camera. :(( that was very unfortunate.... and unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to fix it yourself. Dropping those small digital cameras is usually the death of them... and their one year warranty does not apply to damage done by the user. We have boxes full of cameras just like yours that have suffered the same fate. It is possible to have it repaired, but as you say, you might as well just buy another one. Perhaps since he dropped it, your boyfriend might step up to the plate and replace it for you?? I might suggest something for the future: look at the larger digital cameras... those that you can attach a neck strap for security against dropping. Get one that has a little size to it.. (around the size of a juice box) No, they don't look as cute.. but yours is not too cute now either.. Right?

  2. He needs to buy you a new camera.

Warranties only cover defects in manufacture ... gravity and fluids are not covered.

  3. when you do get a new one make him use the wrist stap as a rule....I never new thats what they were for(to prevent dropping), thats what I make my pre teens do :)
