Does anyone know how to replace the crankcase gears on a 75 Yamaha 175 Enduro?

It seems like I might need new gears because a friend of mine kicked the starter and possibly forced it to break. Now when I kick the starter, all I hear is a gear turning inside. There is also no more compression when I kick it which is causing the bike not to start. What should I do?

yes but finding a kicker gear wont be easy if not impossible and the labor on it will be more than the bikes worth, unless you plan on tackling it yourself, then I'd like to be there to watch you get the spring back on right, I love a good laugh
