Preferably to recycle it, but I'm not sure if this is possible. I WON'T donate it, as it's scratched, and I don't want to simply toss it!

  1. is it a cast Iron pan if so you can just get it grit blasted & still use it Cast iron is naturally nonestick there are things you can do to help

  2. The quickest way to degrade Teflon is to heat it. DuPont claims publicly that its non-stick coatings are stable up to 600¡ Fahrenheit, a temperature which the company says is well above that reached in everyday cooking.

Or you can take it to a household hazardous waste program(HHW)

  3. you have probabaly ate some of the particles from it i dont think there good for you i dont know if the scrap people will take it

  4. Throw it in the trash.  Personally, I would just keep using it.

  5. Try contacting the manufacturer.  I had a crock pot that the handle cracked on it and it became dangerous...I contacted them to see how I could safely dispose of it and not have it end up in someone else's hands.  They ended up sending me a completely new one and paid for me to ship them my old one.  Turns out they use it for research to better their product.  I was very impressed.  It can't hurt.

  6. Is it Cast Iron / steel?  or Aluminum ?

All of these can be recycled at Scrap yards.  While your City "curbside" recyclers may not take it, a metal scrap yard will.  They shred the metal and melt it down.  All impurities (including the Teflon) come the the surface of the molten metal.  This "sludge" is (unfortunately) land filled.  The good news, is that from a four pound pan, less than an ounce is actually waste.  P.S. - Aluminum pans have value, and a scrap yard may come get it.
