  1. Remember to keep the weight down

    (1) wrap the rods singly in bubble wrap.

    (2) place in a cardboard  tube.

    (3) make sure the rod fits tight

    (4) seal both ends with a piece of foam and a plastic cap

(5).Label properly this is most important.

  2. cut a piece of drain pipe to size and put the rods inside

  3. a cardboard tube similiar or the same as a drawing tube , art shop or art shop supplies , break down the rod , measure length and diameter and find tube to fit .

  4. We send out rods the whole time.

    You can either use

A - A cardboard tube that will be strong enough to survive the Royal Mail!!

B - A Piece of old drain pipe, Tape up one end drop the rod in - Pack with newspaper then seal the other end with some more tape. You will probably get some really cheap pipe from your local builders.

Remember whichever method you use either use some "fragile" sticky tape or write on the actual package in permanent marker "FRAGILE" just to let the mail people know that the item inside is breakable.

We have sent quite a number of rods and never had a problem using the above method.

Try out http://www.highlandtackle.co.uk for all your sea fishing tackle needs.

  5. You can buy rod tubes or as already suggested cut down a length of drain pipe, i would go with the rod tubes as the cordura ones are tough and can be re-uesd for the angler who buys them.
