  1. Hi there.   You cannot crop and enlarge/magnify inside of the camera.   It is possible to get the larger pic but what you are wanting to do is enlarge a particular area of the picture by "resizing" it... not  magnifying it.   You are going to have to get a "photo imaging program".  We have Photoshop Creative Suite... way too expensive to advise that one to you.  There are others, one of which is Photoshop Elements - about $89.00.  I know there are many other there, but don't know the brands.   Once you have it installed,  you would open a picture  in the program and proceed to crop the desired area.   Then go to IMAGE SIZE and see what the current size is.   If you have a 5X7 crop and want an 11X14,  just type in 11 & 14 and then set your resolution.  72 for using on the internet.  300 when wanting to print.  That is just an example but those are the steps I take to enlarge just a portion of a picture.   Hope I was able to explain it for you.

  3. You perform the magnification and cropping in the computer.  That's where you have the most flexibilty and will get the best results.

If you're trying to capture 35mm print images into your computer, the best way is to use a scanner or a 3-in-1 printer/scanner/copier device.  When connected to your computer, it will let you save a copy of the photo.  From there, you can manipulate the image as much as you like.

The maginification is limited by the original size of the photo.

Another alternative is to take the photos or negatives to a photo counter at your local store.  They can scan the photos or negatives for you and give you back a cd with the images.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Not really. The camera does not allow you to edit in the camera. You need to download the pictures first. You can then crop and edit in any editing program including the one that came with your camera.
