  1. sou jyanai to omoimasu. - i don't think so.

sou jyanai desu yo - It's not true.

sou is 'like this' while jyanai is 'not'

So sou jyanai means Not like this.

To omou means think. To omoimasu is the polite form.

Yo is sth like 'you know?' or with the tone that you are providing some information.

    Other ways to say it:

Sou jyanai to omou (too colloquial)

Mentioned: Sou jyanai to omoimasu (a bit polite)

    Sou dewanai to omoimasu. (polite)

    Sou jyanai yo! (colloquial)

Mentioned: Sou jyanai desu yo! (rather polite)

Sou dewa arimasen. (polite, but no place to put yo)

  2. I think what you heard was "sonna koto nai yo". It means something along the lines of "it's not like that" which I guess could be the same as "I don't think so" or "it's not true".

  3. i dont think so

    =sou wa omowanai kedo. (casual)

    =sou wa omoimasen. (polite)

    its not true

=sore wa honto ja nai yo. (casual)

=sore wa hontou de wa arimasen. (polite)
