Does anyone know how to seal decorations on a plastic bowl?

I want to get plastic popcorn size bowls and have my daughter decorate them as gifts from her. Is there a way to decorate a bowl and then seal it so the decorations cant come off?

You can buy a clear coat in either spray or brush on at your craft store. However, I'm not sure if you will be able to eat from these bowls afterwards. Check the product label.

You can use a plastic varnish.  Just make sure she decorates only the outside.
