Does anyone know how to start a travel agency???

I am interested in starting a travel agency. I will soon graduate from college and want to start my own business. Does anyone know if it's a lucrative area to go into?? I know many people aren't traveling these days due to gas prices. However, i'm still interested in finding out how to go about starting this business. An info will help! Thanks :)

I know two people that have had established travel agencies, one is closed now and the other has let her office go to work from home to cut her cost.  Online booking has cut into business to the extent that this would not be a wise move for your future business.

Travel agents are rapidly being disintermediated by online services. It would most likely be a poor idea.

If you're really interested, I'd suggest working for someone else in an agency first to gain valuable experience.

First you should get insite into the travel world Go to work for a major agency pt or ft to learn and see if that is what you really want
