Does anyone know how to stop Internet Explorer saving websites you typed into the address bar?

So that basically when you type in a few letters it doesn't show every URL viewed to do with that site. For example Google or MySpace.

I just got a new laptop (Windows Vista) and it never used to do this on my old laptop and I want to turn it off.

Help please?

Thanks :)

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options.

Click the Content tab, then AutoComplete

Uncheck the box for Web Addresses

    OK. OK.

    Done.

  2. When you open up the internet, on the toolbar click on Tools, then click on Internet Options, The middle section will say Temporary Internet Files, click delete cookies.  The last section will say History, click clear history.  A pop up might come up and ask if you are sure, click yes.  You might have to do this everytime you are on the Internet, but it will keep the URL's from comming up everytime you start typing something

  3. What are you trying to hind???

  4. No, I don't think so. Short of deleting your browsing history after every session.

It is there as a short cut to web pages visited, as you can then scroll down to click on it without retyping it all.

But if you want to delete Go to Tools > Delete Browsing History > Delete History   it will then only keep what's in your favourites center.

EDIT : Dial Kyle is correct, just tried it. Works
