Does anyone know how to use grocery store coupons properly?

For example, I have seen people buy shopping carts full of stuff for only $4. They do use quite of bit of coupons. I use coupons also, but only save a few dollars. Does anyone know how to do this? tips? advice? would be very helpful. Thank you

I've heard of coupon queens who use coupons on days when the stores doubles the face value and buy items that are also on sale.  It would add up pretty nicely that way.

I do not use coupons.  Our store does not double them, and the difference between the brand name with the coupon and the house brand I normally buy is usually more than the face of the coupon, so it's still cheaper for me to go generic.  I do for most things.  I still feed my family well on a small budget though, and more so now that I'm home to cook meals under less time pressure.
