  1. 1. Use a fuel stabilizer ( I prefer SEAFOAM) and run motor to get the stabilized fuel into carbs

    2. pull front cover on carbs and while motor is running on a muff and garden hose spray fogging oil in each carb. Spray back and forth without stalling engine. After lot's of smoke is produced then flood motor with fogging oil till it dies.

    3. pull plugs and spray fogging oil in each cylinder. Replace plugs

4 Drain and refill lower unit with gear oil.

    5. pull prop and check for old fishing line around prop shaft. grease shaft with white grease and replace prop.

    6. Grease all fittings on motor.

7 store with motor straight up and down so water won't accumulate in exhaust discharge of lower unit.

The fogging oil you can get at any automotive parts dealer along with stabilizer. Lower unit oil can be bought at same place. To do your motor should cost no more than $ 30. You will need about 24/28 oz of lower unit 90# gear oil.

  2. I always get my oil and winterizing supplies from a local marine supply store.

  4. I boat.com gives complete details.
