My husband and I are traveling to Ireland in August and have now decided to take our teenage son. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any B & B's that offer rooms that accommodate 3. It seems that the ones I've see all offer rooms that only accommodate 2. Some offer what is called a "cot," but I don't know if it's really a cot or a crib.

  1. I was with my parents in Ireland three years ago.  We stayed in b&b's the whole time and the three of us shared a room everynight but one.    That one night was one that I talked my parents into letting me sleep in my own room because they offered us a deal.  All the cots I slept in were real, not cribs.  We traveled with another couple who only had two people and we did notice that their rooms were usually nicer.  Good luck, and if you need specific names of B&B's let me know I might be able to find out.

  2. yes i have stayed in a few three bed B&B's, the last one was in westport.  Normally these are called family rooms.  A "cot" is for a baby.

  3. The Bellevue Inn in Cork offers such a room and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet!  The B & B is lovely, has an ocean view, and the food is delicious!  Visit their site at www.bellevuebb.com.  Have a wonderful vacation!

  4. Lots of b&bs have 3 bedded rooms.  However, if your son is teenage isn't he a bit old to be in a room with you.  Visit www.discoverireland.ie to see lots of accommodation and if what you want is not there email the tourist board and ask for advice.  Ireland is a very safe country so you would not have to worry if your son was in a separate room.

    Enjoy your trip
