Does anyone know if F1 visa holders can work part time in the US?

hey there, i just want to know if anyone here is a student F1 visa holder in the US and knows by experience if this visa category allows people to work part time off campus. i've been a part time waiter in London for about 2 years and study my degree during the day and work during the evening, just wondering if i could do the same in NYC. thank you!

No, this is not possible in the U.S. for F1 students.

F1 students are only permitted to work 20 hours per week during the semesters and full-time during the holidays and all work must be carried out on-campus. No off campus employment is permitted in your case, so working as a waiter etc is out of the question.

No they cannot work off-campus during holidays but they can work full-time, as opposed to part-time, on-campus during the holidays.
